Spring is in the air, and that means it's time for Calgary's annual street sweeping operation. The City's street sweeping program cleans over 16,000 lane kilometres of paved roads each year, helping to keep our city clean and free of dirt and debris.

This year, the residential street sweeping operation will launch on Monday, April 15. To find out when your roadway will be cleaned, visit the City of Calgary's website or download the My Calgary app.

Here are a few things you can do to help the street sweeping operation run smoothly:

  • Move your vehicles off the street on your scheduled sweeping day. This will allow the sweepers to clean the entire street, including the curb and gutter.
  • If you have a driveway, sweep or shovel any debris onto your lawn or into a garbage can. This will prevent the debris from being swept into the street.
  • Do not park your vehicle on the street overnight during the sweeping operation. This will help to ensure that your street is cleaned properly.

By following these tips, you can help keep your neighbourhood clean and free of dirt and debris. For more information on the street sweeping program, visit the City of Calgary's website or call 311.
