65 People Infected in Nine States

A farm in Shawano County, Wisconsin has issued a voluntary recall of all eggs produced since May 1, 2023, due to possible Salmonella contamination. The recall was issued after 65 people in nine states were infected with Salmonella after consuming eggs from the farm.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is investigating the outbreak. The CDC recommends that consumers do not eat any eggs from the recalled farm and that they discard any eggs they have already purchased.

  • Washing your hands thoroughly before and after handling eggs.
  • Washing surfaces and utensils that have come into contact with eggs thoroughly.
  • Avoiding eating raw or undercooked eggs.
